Ballyarnett Country Park
Hawthorn Heights are delighted to have completed the new state of the art play park at Ballyarnett Country Park. The play area was jointly funded by the Social Investment Fund and Derry City and Strabane District Council and has been a desired facility for the local area for many years.
Local families can now enjoy the fantastic play area right on their doorstep. The project opening event was attended by the Local Mayor, Councillors, Funders and Stakeholders. The much anticipated play area at Ballyarnett Country Park incorporates a range of timber, steel and robinia items of play equipment to cater for toddlers, junior and the more adventurous senior users. The play area is enclosed with a 2.4m bespoke fencing system with self closing gates for ease of access for visitors of all ages and abilities. The play area is surfaced in natural ‘Enviromulch’ Safety surfacing. The natural theme of the play area incorporates an aeroplane referencing the famous ‘Amelia Earhart’ – the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic who actually landed near to the play area site when she encountered difficulties on her travels.
Hawthorn Heights feel privileged to have carried out the works and are extremely proud of the finished play area. We are confident the the play facility will become a major asset to the local community.
